Joe! You are absolutely right... you DO need to start on that story! lol. Nah - I'm joking with you! You're right about MORE than that (of course!).
I do find writing in here very rewarding. I get to put some things out in the open and I give myself the opportunity of looking at things from another view point by the comments and feedback I get. You're absolutely right when you said that I gain insight from comments. I sure do! Also when things are swimming around in your own head they tend to be HUGE - but when you write them out on paper (or type them out into cyberspace) you gain a bit of perspective in regards to the "size" or "seriousness" of your own thoughts. It's a great "reality" check, I guess is what I'm trying to say.

I think there is a scene in FIGHT CLUB that talks about "stuff" - and our need as Americans to get more and more stuff - to buy things and to get "suckered" into wanting things that we might not want if we weren't all living to someone else's standards. I try not to get suckered in - but I have a wish list on amazon that proves me wrong! lol. It's so funny that I tried really hard a few days ago to write a post about my descent into I-Hell (Ipods, Iphone, Ibooks, etc etc) and I couldn't quite get it out on paper. I never WANTED an Iphone but now I'm beginning to desire one. I don't need one - I have a perfectly good cell phone - but it's so PRETTY. And it's cute. And it's by Mac. which makes it (at least at this point of my consumer life) appealing as fuck! I think I couldn't quite get the post out because even I knew how duped I had been!

Like my mommy tells me: THINGS don't make you happy. And if you think that THINGS make you happy - pretty soon you'll need more and more things and bigger and faster and better things to fill that hole up inside of you that only YOU can fill ultimately.

Yeah - my mommy is a smart person.

But I still think the Iphone is cute as hell. ;)

Celina sometimes you are so deep, I love it. Ironic I just read about a woman who talks about "clutter" in the things people do in the pursuit of happiness.

Her point is that in this world where people feel driven to "keep up with the Jones" They take on too many activities, too elaborate vacations, and over schedule their kids and themselves. Trying to make it look to the world as they are having way more fun than anybody. But in reality they make themselves crazy and stressed out. When they start to limit the things that don't really make them happy, they realize that the things in life that do were there all the time, but they were too busy to see it.

Anyway I thought that kind of went along with what you were saying.

And I understand how knowing that some of us check this diary out daily (or almost) and how you feel you know us and we know you so well - what I mean is, it feels at times like your sharing your diary with everyone. Diaries usually are to be shared with a bff or no one at all. Just there for us to go back too and reflect on what is going on in our lives.

And yet, I bet sometimes that by reading our comments, you gain an insight that you would not have seen, had you not shared the diary entry.

I think we would all understand if somethings you don't share, some things you share with only 1 or a very few people. It is your life after all, so you need to be comfortable with how public it becomes.

I better get back to that fantasy story I promised you and stop all this blogging.... ;)
