Manic Makeup Monday est. 9/2010

MY wet dream...

Hi. My name is CeCe and I’m an addict. It’s been about a week since my last binge.

I’ve been an addict for several years, but my addiction went from bad to sick when a former makeup sugar daddy took a break from his role as supplier. I took matters into my own hands and things suddenly took a turn for the worst.

At first my itch could be scratched with a few choice palettes from Coastal Scents, but then my addiction grew beyond the confines Coastal Scents provided. I started watching Youtube videos of make up “gurus” – women who taught tutorials on make up application, and everything that went into their recreation of the dozens of make up looks, had to be mine. If they said they used urban decay primer potion, then I needed urban decay primer potion. Sugarpill Cosmetics? Then I needed the entire collection as well (Wait a minute! She has NEW loose shadows?!? OMG. They are soooo pretty! And can you even stand the names of her products? Paperdoll? Stella? Birthday Girl? I had them all until these new ones came out and now I must have all the new ones, too!! See?? *faints*). Urban Decay Book Of Shadows that often times feature the same recycled eyeshadows disguised under different names? Didn’t matter – I had to have those, too. My collection that once fit into a modest old fashioned make up case, now expanded to several sterlite stack up drawers. As one of my make up pushers revealed, I now have over 1000 eyeshadow colors, close to 100 nail polishes and a drawer filled with 75 lipsticks from nyx cosmetics, wet & wild, and MAC – my latest obsession.

I’ve always been an admirer of MAC collections, but I’m fairly certain that they are the devil. Their well calculated plans fit right into the heart and mind of every addict. The frequently release new collections that boast of special edition never to be repeated eyeshadows, lip glosses, pigments, etc. They package them in pretty little containers like “hello kitty” and then offer make over parties at their pro stores. They also make it easy for you to collect their little pans of makeup crack by offering palettes that need to be filled up. These palettes consist of 15 lonely holes all crying out for the next pretty eyeshadow. At first, naive, I got one of the eyeshadow palettes. It was economical to get them. 1 eyeshadow in it’s regular packaging costs 14 dollars. One eyeshadow that fits neatly into the palettes only cost 11 bucks. Sure the initial palette costs 15 dollars, but then the savings begin immediately, I thought. Besides, I don’t have to have the whole palette filled up – I’ll just get a few eyeshadows every now and again. How very wrong I was. 2 palettes later, I’m looking forward to starting my NEW palette of just neutral colors, since my green eyeshadows, plum-purple-pink shadows, and blue shadows are all fighting for palettes of their very own. With this new MAC obsession firmly rooted in my make up addicted heart, I started spending at least $100 dollars every week to get my fix. I knew deep down inside I was out of control, but how could I stop when it felt SO good. I needed more. More. MORE! And that is precisely when I knew I needed help. Help. HELP!

Enter – Manic Makeup Monday. MMM will take place the first Monday of every month. Whatever money I make on that Monday will be my budget for my makeup for the entire month. If I make $40 dollars on a particular MMM – that will be my budget. Makeup, for clarity sake, is any cosmetic – nail polish and eyelashes included. I don’t have to spend my MMM funds that month (as if!) and can save it for the following month if a particular collection is coming up (The MAC Villainess Collection that comes out in late October looks SICK! I seriously want it all!). But I can not, under any circumstances, spend more than what I make on that ONE monday a month. Of course, if some of you want to take pity on a girl who is seriously make jonesing and needs a quick fix, you’re welcome to purchase my drug for me on my behalf. Call me for details. ;)

So – thank you in advance for calling me today. Some girls love shoes. Some girls love clothes. Some girls collect jewelry and accessories and purses and stuff. I collect little compacts filled with pretty colored cream and lotions and pigments. I’m addicted to pretty – what is the harm in that? :)
